Why build a lake? ⌄
A lake is the most efficient way to store water on a farm or estate in the Gulf. And it's beautiful too. One build solves irrigation, livestock supply, aquaculture, and aesthetic value all at once. It's an investment in your land that lasts decades.
Why is the liner black instead of blue? ⌄
The HDPE liner is black for performance. It's the most UV-stable and durable color, which is critical in Gulf heat. But you don't see the liner. Once the lake is filled, the water reflects the sky and turns the surface turquoise to deep blue. Stone banks, fountains, and landscaping finish the look. The black liner is invisible. And that's the point.
Why not just use concrete water tanks? ⌄
Concrete cracks under thermal stress in GCC conditions, and repairs are expensive and disruptive. HDPE-lined lakes hold far more water at lower cost per cubic meter, last longer, never corrode, and double as a beautiful feature on the land. Concrete is a tank. A lake is an asset.
Doesn't the water evaporate? ⌄
Yes. Some evaporation happens with any open water in the desert, typically 5–8 mm per day in Gulf summers. We design lakes with depth, shape, and optional shade structures to minimize loss, and the volume stored vastly outweighs evaporation. For purely functional reservoirs, we can add floating covers that cut evaporation by up to 80%.
How long does it take to build a lake? ⌄
Most builds take 4–10 weeks from site visit to handover, depending on size, soil conditions, and finish. A standard 5,000 m³ reservoir is typically ready in about 5 weeks. Larger or more complex estate lakes with custom landscaping and fountains take longer. We give you a firm timeline at the design stage and stick to it.
